UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY

To commemorate the historic speech by Swami Vivekananda on 11th September, 1893 in Chicago delegates of the World's Parliament of Religion, VKV Tumpreng celebrated the 131 Universal Brotherhood Day on 11th September, 2024 in school premises.
The program was started with Mangalcharan continued by patriotic song presented by the students of class IX at the assembly. To pay homage to great Indian thinker and spiritualist Swami Vivekananda, Kushal Chetry, student of class VI presented Chicago speech which is popularly remembered for its opening words - 'Sisters and brothers of America'. It was followed by the speech of Gautam Koiri Sir where he highlighted the story of Swami Vivekananda at the time of his visit to America.
On this particular day, VKV Tumpreng organised different Competitions for the students of class IV to X which includes Thought Presentation of Swami Vivekananda by the students of classes IV and V, Speech Competition on the Life and Work of Swami Vivekananda / Chicago Speech for the students VI, VII, VIII and Story Telling and Quiz Competition on Swami Vivekananda for the students of class IX and X. The competition started from 9:30 AM and every student from different classes participated with great enthusiasm.The event ended at 11 AM with Shanti mantra.
The total number of attendees including students, teacher and non-teaching staff were 145 approx.
